Oh, thou Rock of our salvation…

Last Monday, we had the chance to go to this one place called Scissors Rock (剪刀石) and do some hiking! The hike isn’t actually that hard (it’s mostly semi-natural stair steps…like most of Taiwan’s hikes are), and once you get to the top (Scissors Rock), you can see a lot of the city!

Wearing orange as it’s “hunting season” here in Taiwan . . .

It was quite sunny that day and I discovered that I probably need to buy sunglasses at some point – it’s hard to take pictures without squinting. Besides it being hot and super humid, it was really fun!

. . . always on the lookout for our next “pray”

During the week, we met a small group of college age kids and had a chance to sit down and talk with them. We taught them about the Book of Mormon and about church and then set up to meet the next day. Unfortunately, when the next day came around, they weren’t able to make it. When we called all of them to try to find another time, we found out that they all actually had stuff going on and really couldn’t. One of them was just starting mandatory military service, another had school stuff, etc. Too bad!

May not be able to reap this time, but always planting seeds!

This week we had 5 people at church! Of course that’s spread between two different wards, but it’s still pretty good for us. We’ve got two investigators right now that are most likely going to be able to get baptized this month. One of them theoretically (if all goes well) should be getting baptized this upcoming Saturday, but we’re still waiting for him to have a baptismal interview. The other one is scheduled for the 24th, and I think definitely could make that date! Yesterday at church we had two members bring non-member friends with them! One brought their friend, and the other brought their student (a kid from China who is here until August!). Yay for members!

This place is beautiful!

We also attended the Single Adult Family Home Evening last night with our investigator and it was really fun! There were two games that all of us played: Uno and Noah’s Ark, both of which are enjoyable! I’m still waiting on the pictures from another member, though, so you’ll see them next week!

Awwwww, so close, Elder! If you’d sent at least six photos, I wouldn’t have had to pull from the “back up” stash of photos! lol

Been preparing for my mission for years!

And I thought this was making it to the top!

Never feel insignificant – but always remember you’re a part of something much bigger than yourself!

So this explains Elder Simonson’s uncanny ability to make faces . . .
