Transfers

“Oh, well. Just another boring day saving the universe.” (Old photo…new companion)

This week was awesome! We had transfers this last week and fortunately I didn’t have to move. But……..my companion, Elder Budd, moved up to Taipei, and ELDER ROBBINS moved down here to 玉里!  When I was living in ZhongHe last year, we lived together in the same apartment for 6 weeks! This will be his last transfer (6 weeks) here in Taiwan since he’s been on a mission for almost two years now.

“Always remember, your focus determines your reality.”
“Why do I sense we’ve picked up another pathetic life-form?”

(Sorry guys….I just couldn’t resist!)

“I’m looking forward to completing your training. In time you will call me Master”… dumpling maker!

Last Monday, we made some dumplings with one of the members in our branch, 金弟兄 (Brother Jin). It took us forever to make, but we ended up with tons of dumplings in the end, which made our stomachs happy.

“The Sand People are easily startled, but they will soon be back, and in greater numbers”… as soon as they smell those dumplings!

“R2-D2, it is you, It Is You !”
We all have to pay our “dues”.

“Your eyes can deceive you….don’t trust them”….to all fit in your stomach!

Seatbelt? Uh....yeah, I'm seated and wearing a belt, Mom...

“Adventure. Excitement. A Jedi craves not these things.” …but a missionary may!

On Tuesday, our ride from 瑞穗 English class to the train station didn’t show up, so one of our students drove us in the back of her truck to the train station so that we wouldn’t miss the train! It was our first time riding in the back of a truck – super exciting!

On Wednesday, we made some cookies with one of the sisters’ investigators, 羅鈺婷 (Luo Yu-Ting). They were these special kind that ends up being a spiral of two different colors since you have to roll the dough up. It was really fun!

“I’ve been waiting for you, Obi-Wanna-Cookie. We meet again, at last. The circle is now complete.”

“Judge me by my size, do you?”

The night before my companion moved, we visited this one family that we knew and showed them his lightsaber that he bought. They thought it was really cool so we took some pictures and gave them a pineapple as a gift.

“The force is strong with this one.”                              You’re crushin’ it, Peter! Way to go!

That night we also happened to see one of our investigators, Peter, on the road. He had quit smoking about a month or so ago on his own, but I’m sure that he’s been having struggles with it whenever he sees other people smoking. However, that day a month ago, he took his pack and crushed it up and said he’s not going to smoke again! He also gave me his lighter since he said he doesn’t need it anymore. I took a picture of him so that I’ll be able to print it out, write a note on it, and then put it in a picture frame and give it to him to remind him that he quit smoking!

Another thing that happened this transfer is that in addition to being English unit leader, I became the new district leader. Anyway, this transfer is going to be awesome! We’ve got some good plans that should definitely make some progress here! Wish us luck!
