Yay Hiking…and Bugs!

Life is looking up for Letty since her baptism two days ago!

Had a pretty fun week last week! On Monday, we went with one of Elder Tan’s RCs over to 象山 (XiangShan) to go hiking. I’ve been there twice before actually, but it was still an enjoyable hike! From the top, you’re able to look out and see a lot of Taipei (and Taipei 101 of course!).

Once we had finished hiking up and back down again, we took the MRT back to our area and played board games for a little while with them, which was fun!

After English class, we had a friend who brought some bug (locust…cicada…I’m not really sure what it is) for us to eat! I actually ate one of them and it wasn’t too bad. If you didn’t see what it was before you ate it, you probably wouldn’t think too much about it since it has a fairly normal flavor.

One, for the money……………Two, for the show…………….Three, to get ready……..

And four, it’s head’s gotta go!      Hmmmmmmmmm………………tastes like chicken!

Ohhhhh…….I can’t believe I ate the whole thing!  And Elder Tan, not to be outdone…

On Saturday, my ward and another ward had a big potluck for everyone to come to. It went from like 6:30pm to 8:30pm. The first hour was just eating food (yay), but then after that we had time for some musical performances. People played instruments like the Chinese piano and Chinese violin which were really cool! Us missionaries (Sister Harvey, Sister Bradley, Elder Crawford, Elder Tan, and I) sang Come Thou Fount together!

We’ve still got some pretty cool investigators here right now. The nice thing too is that they’re all pretty solid! They’re interested in hearing what we’re sharing with them, plus some of them have families too! Hopefully we’ll have a baptism this upcoming Saturday. He’s got a few issues that he’s got to deal with before then, but I’m confident that he can do it!

I forget when, but sometime this week we also got on the roof of our two story chapel. Someone came to take pictures of stuff on the roof for the church, so we figured out how to get up there to help her out!

Thanks for all the wishes of a typhoon…it worked! There’s a big one that’s projected to hit the middle of Taiwan tomorrow! Yayayayayayay…I’m ready!
